The Chateaux of the Loire

Touring the Chateaux

sunny 23 °C

Today we were up bright and early - walked 30 mins to the office of F Com France in Rue L'Echelle. We'd pre-booked two tours - Loire and Versailles
At 7.30am we boarded a very comfortable red touring coach (Savac). Our guide, Nathalie, from F Com France was very friendly and patient.
After 3 hours driving we reached the first chateau, Chenonceau. With guide book in hand we explored the chateau at our own pace for an hour or so. This was a magnificent Chateau with richly furnished rooms.
We then travelled half an hour to Chateau Cherveny with its most ornate Chenonceau

furnishing and decor.
Our third Chateau was the largest chateau - Chambord, built by the young King Francis Ist. This has a beautiful building but the inside has been only partly furnished.

We would thoroughly recommend this tour with FCom France. It was very reasonably priced and very well organised.
