We are very happy to have booked the Oasis hotel near the Nice-Ville train station and just a short 10 min stroll to Promenade Des Anglais!
This morning we set off to discover the beautiful Russian Orthodox Cathedral of St .Nicholas
This is a most ornate building and we were able to go inside to admire the many icons..and the beautiful interior of this church - the largest outside Russia.
After a short stop back at the hotel, we continued down to the beach and strolled along the Promenade to see the flower market stalls and small restaurants which line the Rue du Calvas in "Old Nice" ... took some great pics to share with you!!

Soo.. up fairly early.. not taking the hotel breakfast today.. headed down to the main beach and walked along to the bus stop named "Albert 1er"
Oh, I hear you ask.. so did you take along anything special with you?? .. well .. a quick backpack search reveals cameras, oh a pair of bathers.. and a newly purchased beach towel....

so.. are you any the wiser??
The bus trip was quite pleasant.. we travelled anong the coast.. well more or less, through Juan les Pins, then Antibes, and a couple of other large towns.. town roads all the way, till we reached our destination.. a large square with shops and lots of white tents visible near the harbour.
Here we just stood and marvelled at the magnificent private boats.. such opulance we just don't seem to see in Oz!

This was quite a busy place ..suited security guards were carefully watching the passers by.. and there were some other more intrusive characters:

so we mingled with the crowds and watched the "wannabees" wandering up and down , then had some lunch and caught the bus back to Nice!
